Loss
This work is dedicated to Michalis.
The fifth of the six works in the “Soul” section. A man over a grave is mourning. These are the first days of this loss. I declare this with the sun. Putting the sun in the shadow of the work in such a place and with this color, you can interpret it as west or east. At such times, very early or late in the afternoon, we are in the cemetery usually in the first days that we have not yet accepted the fact. There is denial as we are confused. Hence the strange figure above the person experiencing the loss … A confusion … Thoughts, regrets, feelings, situations and persons involved … Some of the persons bend over him, help him … Other they turn their backs (left)…

The poem that accompanies the work is the following:

Loss
… and suddenly he’s/she’s gone…
… Suddenly, even if we expected it…
… One moment he/she was with you…
… talking to you…
… caressing you…
… squeezing your hands…
… singing to you…
… listening to you…
… scolding you…
… blaming you…
… claiming you…
… loving you…
… suddenly, nothing…
… you asked but he/she didn’t nod…
… Ice cold all over…
… he/she is here somewhere…
… he/she will be back…
… you can feel he/ she sees you…
… you feel he/she is still there.
