“Kostis Georgiou – ENIGMA”
In a report on the work of Kostis Georgiou
and the exhibitions of the Teloglion Arts Foundation
during 2018-2019, she states among other things:
“{…} Without any particular goal in mind, but rather from a series
of exceotionally good coincidences and contemporaneity, the artists
showcased mt the Teloglio in 2018-2019 are linked in a magical way
by poetry, particularly that of George Seferis:
Prekas, Sorogas, Tsalamata, Arfaras, Vlassis, Vaitsis and finally
a show dedicated to Seferis himself, where leading contemporary Greek artists
are inspired by his poetry, joining the language of visual arts
with the highest poetrical discourse {…}”

“GENESIS – A Course through Infinity”
“The GENESIS exhibition consists of 25 shadow sculptural compositions.
The artist Triantafyllos Vaitsis draws his inspiration for these works
on the creation and evolution of the Earth, as well as the course of humanity on it.
His compositions consist of at least two parts: one concerns the sculpture,
made of simple, everyday materials, and the other its shadow.
With the appropriate lighting, the shadows depicted on the wall reveal objects,
situations and events presenting a different perspective, and emphasizing on its value.”

“Beyond the Shadows”
From the official catalog of the group exibition “Beyond the Shadows”
which took place in Tainan, Taiwan between 13 July 2019 and 31 October 2020
“What we look is always less than what we see.
This is my motto and I believe that shadow art is the right kind of art for this.
We can see the objects or the situations but we cannot
understand all the information of them. If we look
at an objector a situation from different angles,
we can see deifferent images or we can have different conclusions,
even opposites.”

Shadow Artist, Shadow Art
A shadow artist is an artist who creates works of shadows
by appropriately illuminating various objects.
His art is called shadow art. Two names are enough to start with:
Eugenios Spatharis, from the field of shadow theater, and Triantafyllos Vaitsis,
from the field of shadow sculpture.
Example: Shadow sculpture is a branch of shadow art, sometimes with influences
from the field of Trash Art.
