In 1974, the university began operating, bringing youthful breaths, knowledge and movement, making Xanthi a lively city, constantly in transition. The student constitutes the new trend, the new ideas, the diversity. That is why the work differs from all the others in the unit. And while in the other sculptures from the abstract of the three dimensions we go to the concrete of the shadow, here we go from the concrete of the sculpture to the abstract.

If one observes the wires on the sculpture, one will see faces representing the students, the professors, the delegates, etc. At the base of the sculpture, there are also some objects that refer to the five departments of the Polytechnic School of Xanthi.

A triangle for the Civil Engineers, an electronic board for the Electricians, a gear-mechanism for the Production and Administration Engineers, an architectural element that has been placed in such a way that one can see the signature of the work through it for the Architects, and a miniature of the artist’s diploma, which refers to the department of Environmental Engineers, in which he studied.
