In 1896, the railway came as a promise of progress, connecting the city with the world and bringing people, sounds and dreams.
The Thessaloniki – Constantinople railway line brought a new era for trade and the economic structure and development of Xanthi and the region in general.
The Orient Express later passed through this line (the image in which the sculpture is based is from the 2017 film “Murder on the Orient Express”).
