Lucky Heron
This sculpture came about by chance. Among my “scrap” materials, I had a metal frame—the kind that used to be fitted into a car dashboard to hold the CD player. I cut the frame on one side and was playing around with it in the light, bending it, when I happened to see the shape of a bird emerge. A heron, I thought. The only thing missing was its leg. I added a piece of wire, and the piece was complete. Since it came into being by chance, I named it “The Lucky Heron.”
