The Bird

The Bird

Listen to the accompanying poem of the work

The bird

… bird-remains …

A little bird left one day from his cage …

A little bird left and took his body …

A little bird left and got his voice …

Why did you leave, little bird, Petros wonders …

What did I give you in return for your beautiful voice?

Wars and disasters, earthquakes, damages and killings, banks, finance, taxes, debts, hangings, hunger and pandemics, scandals with me politicians and fanfarologies …

I only gave you these in this living room, which they came out of the box, which you have in front of you …

This is the answer, Petros thought …

It’s as if there was no music to put on the bird …

Images, many colors and sounds from Manos …

It’s as if my voice was cut off in front of your cage …

Slippers and remote controls I only offered you these bad things …

The bird is gone now …

What can I do now?

One day a bird left its cage …

A little bird left and took his voice …

A little bird left and its shadow remained …
